How to obtain qualifications for rescue teams and rescuers?

The qualification process is conducted based on materials submitted by the leaders of rescue teams, at least 2 weeks prior to the qualification. The immediate supervisor of the rescue teams or rescuers submits as follows:

  • The service record of the rescuer being qualified
  • A list of participation in rescue operations
  • A document confirming attendance in professional trainings
  • A health certificate

Individual rescuers present their documents to the qualification committee personally.

Required documents:

  • A document confirming professional training
  • A health certificate

How is the qualification conducted?

Participants in the qualification take exams administered by specialists authorized by the committee in accordance with the qualification requirements and standards for rescue procedures and teams. The exams cover the following:

  • Standards of general physical fitness
  • Basics of first aid
  • Fundamentals of rescue operations
  • Fundamentals of fire safety training
  • Basics of water rescue operations (both theoretical and practical)

Requirements submitted to rescue teams as follows:

  • Have the appropriate rescue equipment, technology, devices, clothing and communication tools designed for rescue activity;
  • Be staffed with specialized rescuers.

How to apply?

To obtain qualification, you must submit a written request to the head of the authorized body.

Submit the completed and signed documents to an employee of the relevant division of the Rescue Service of RA MIA (you must present an ID).

Rescuers are not subject to qualification if:

  • A new qualification level or class within one year after receiving the new qualification, if the rescuers have not expressed such a desire;
  • International-level rescuers;
  • On leave due to pregnancy or for caring for a child under 3 years old, or due to temporary health loss, if they have not expressed such a desire;
  • On leave due to pregnancy or child care, temporary loss of health are subject to qualification after returning from leave no earlier than one year, unless they have expressed a desire to be qualified sooner.
