On December 10, the regular meeting of the interdepartmental working group was held at the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, chaired by the Director of RA - Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan.

The representatives of the management staff of the departments participated.

Expressing gratitude for the effective cooperation, the RS Director noted that discussions with the participation of various departments were extremely important for finding joint solutions. According to him, the priority tasks of the working group are reducing the risks of man-made phenomena, preventing possible emergency situations and taking effective measures to eliminate their consequences.

Effective disaster risk management requires continuous and coordinated activities, improving rapid response skills to ensure public safety, emphasized Kamo Tsutsulyan.

Gurgen Martirosyan, Head of the Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department of the Rescue Service, presented the activities and research results of the Rescue Service in the current year.
The issues of fire occurrence, prevention and control were discussed, in particular, the effectiveness of measures taken to prevent fires in production and storage areas, public facilities, places of mass gathering of people, entertainment centers, wildfires. The nature of fires that had become more frequent in landfills in recent times and the related control mechanisms were also addressed.

Members of the interagency working group presented the programs implemented by their respective agencies, raised existing issues, and proposed sector-specific solutions.

Based on the agreements reached as a result of the discussions, it was decided to apply a comprehensive, integrated and long-term effective approach to systemic issues, as well as to clarify and improve the cooperation toolkit in order to enhance the effectiveness of joint efforts.
