September 4 is Rescuer’s Day, on the occasion of which a festive event was held at the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, Director of RS – Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan, the leadership of the Service and rescuers.

Congratulating on the occasion of the professional day, Minister Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that the conscientious and selfless service of rescuers was always valued and appreciated by the state.

The Minister noted that rescuers were fully aware of the importance of their service: when necessary, they were always by the citizens’ side, fulfilling their duties with great responsibility and honorably overcoming difficulties, as evidenced by their professionalism and dedication during recent disasters.

Referring to the new concept of transformation of the Rescue Service, Minister Sargsyan mentioned that it was based on the experience of rescuers, reassessment of the results of their activities and the lessons learned in various emergency situations. The new concept should bring qualitative changes to the Rescue Service: the results of the activities must be continuously analyzed and realistic proposals should be presented, if improvements were needed.

Expressing gratitude to the rescuers, Minister Sargsyan assured that their service was highly appreciated, that with their daily activities they increase public trust in the system, which should be a benchmark for more professional and conscientious actions.

She also expressed her special gratitude to the families of rescuers for patiently and knowingly sharing the challenges of the service.

On the occasion of the day, Kamo Tsutsulyan congratulated his colleagues and expressed his special gratitude to Minister Arpine Sargsyan for keeping the activities of the Rescue Service constantly in the spotlight, as well as for her trust and support.

The solemn award ceremony also took place.
