On August 9, at 18:35 an emergency call was received to Gegharkunik Regional Operative Management Center that a citizen, while paddleboarding at a beach adjacent to the “Sevan Startup Summit,” had been unable to return to shore due to strong winds and required assistance from rescuers.

One fire unit from the Special Water Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department, the rescue group from the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene. 

The water rescuers located the citizen approximately 1.5 kilometers from the shore and safely brought them back to land.
