On March 11, the Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA, Aram Ghazaryan visited Vanadzor and Gugark Fire and Rescue Squads of Lori Regional Rescue Department to familiarize himself with the organization of the service, existing capabilities and technical equipment.

The RS Director toured the fire and rescue squads, reviewed the building conditions, the specifics of service organization and the operative response capacities. During the visit, he spoke with the personnel and inquired about their working conditions and professional preparedness.

Aram Ghazaryan noted the implementation of the tasks facing the service should be organized in line with the transformed conceptual approaches of the Rescue Service. He emphasized the importance of effectively addressing modern challenges, as well as ensuring a systematic and efficient disaster risk management service.

According to the Director of the Service, the effectiveness of the rescuers largely depends on the continuous development of their professional knowledge and practical skills.

In this context, he highlighted the importance of conducting regular trainings based on various scenario-based situations, which will help increase the level of preparedness and contribute to reducing response time.

At the end of the visit, Aram Ghazaryan alongside the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Yutaka Aoki, Spitak Mayor Kajayr Nikoghosyan and representatives of the law-enforcement system of the province paid tribute at the memorial dedicated to the victims of Japan tsunami in 2011 and laid flowers in Spitak town.

Aram Ghazaryan noted that the disaster had occurred in Japan 15 years ago was a tragedy for all humanity, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in the field of disaster risk management.

The readiness to overcome crisis situations through joint efforts was also highlighted.
