Within this framework, the employees of the RS Rescue Forces Department of the MIA of RA conducted training sessions aimed at combating fires in forested and vegetated areas and at developing a volunteer movement at the Aragatsotn Regional House of Culture, as well as at Kotayk and Ararat Regional Administrations.

The representatives of the RA Ministry of Environment, the Armenian Red Cross, Regional Administrations, community municipalities and Administrative Heads of settlements participated.

Within the framework of the training sessions, participants were introduced to the main causes of fires in forested and vegetated areas, effective prevention mechanisms and response actions to be taken during fires, as well as forms of inter-agency cooperation.

They were also presented with the activities conducted to form and develop a public volunteer rescue movement in the Republic of Armenia, the existing challenges and future actions. It was highlighted to systematically monitor fire-hazardous situations, strengthen timely response capacities, and actively develop the volunteer movement.

The initiative is continuous, aiming to enhance the preparedness level of responsible structures, communities and society at large.
