On June 9–10, 15 rescuers from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in a training course on “Organization and implementation of firefighting operations in forested and vegetated areas” conducted by the Educational Complex of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The purpose of the training course was to develop the rescuers' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to organize firefighting operations more effectively in hard-to-reach areas.
During the theoretical phase of the training, the rescuers were introduced to the legal provisions for fires in forest and other vegetated areas, their general description, causes of their occurrence, creation and fire safety rules, studied the use of engineering and technical means in case of fires in forest and other vegetated areas and the peculiarities of fire extinguishing.
During the practical training session, the participants were introduced to the combat uniforms, their applications, structural features, as well as the procedures for using them in various situations.
The trainees implemented extinguishing activity on a simulated fire that broke out in a forest area with two sources. Due to the difficult -to-pass area, in order to ensure the water supply process, water was pumped from a nearby river to a storage pool and then to the source of the fire using a motor pump. The participants also used shoulder-mounted water sprinklers and other fire extinguishing equipment in the fire extinguishing activity.
The training course was a significant step towards improving the professional skills of the rescuers, which once again emphasized the important role of teamwork, effective coordination and the use of modern technical means in the process of protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of the population.
After completing the training, all participants were awarded appropriate certificates.
