Training on "Disaster Risk Management Plans" Held in Armavir Province
With the support of the Armavir Regional Rescue Department of RA MIA and the Mobilization Preparation Division of the Armavir Regional Administration, a training session on the development of "Disaster Risk Management Plans" was held at Armavir Regional Administration.
The training was attended by community officials responsible for disaster risk management (DRM) plan development, relevant specialists, kindergarten directors, and representatives from various organizations.
The session was led by Head of the Emergency Situations Planning Division of the Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department of the Rescue Service of MIA, r/s Colonel Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.
The main purpose of the training was to enhance the professional capacities of communities, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities in developing and implementing Disaster Risk Management Plans.
Participants were provided with methodological guidelines, examples of DRM plans, and relevant materials. Additionally, schematic maps generated via Google Maps for the communities of Armavir (11 settlements), Baghramyan (14 settlements), Vagharshapat (2 settlements), Parakar (9 settlements), and Ferik (1 settlement) were presented. These maps outlined community-specific hazards, vulnerabilities, resources, and response capabilities.
By the end of the training, the participants are expected to be well-equipped professionals capable of assisting in the development of Disaster Risk Management Plans within their communities or organizations. This initiative aims to enhance community preparedness levels and contribute to the creation of a safer environment.
