Dear colleagues, dear citizens, 

March 1 is celebrated as International Civil Defense Day. The significance of this day highlights the importance of civil defense systems in protecting people’s lives and health.

The International Civil Defense Organization has designated the year of 2026 as "Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future".

The Rescue Service, being a structure conducting a humanitarian mission, bears special responsibility in ensuring the population protection.

International Civil Defense Day also reminds us of the importance of increasing preparedness level of our society, as well as strengthening solidarity and mutual assistance.

I am confident that we will continue to work with a high sense of responsibility, ensuring the safety of our population and resilience to crisis situations.
