Summary information on fires in grassland and vegetation areas
The firefighters in various parts of the Republic continue to implement the firefighting operations in grasslands and vegetated areas. Thanks to their intensive and coordinated actions, it was possible to extinguish and localize numerous fire sources and actions in a number of directions continue at the same pace.
As of 12:00, on November 26, two of the fire heaths that broke out on November 21 in Chambarak–Ttujur area of Gegharkunik province were extinguished as a result of the operative actions of the firefighter and rescuers. The remaining heaths were localized and operations is continuing intensively.
The firefighting headquarters led by the Director of RS - Deputy Minister of IA, r/s Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan formed to promptly manage the firefighting operations on-site.
More than a thousand rescuers from the structural and regional departments of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were involved in the large-scale firefighting operations, who continuously cooperate with the Police, the Eco-Patrol Service and the Ministry of Defense.
Thanks to the coordinated and persistent the actions by the firefighters, it was possible to extinguish the fires in a number of areas as follows:
- In Gegharkunik province: Spitakasar area of Martuni, the Vardenyats Pass, near Lchashen village and on the mountain adjacent to Zolakar village;
- In Lori province: in the areas of Spitak Pass, Lernadjur, on the mountain adjacent to Arevashogh village, in Saratovka–Novoseltsovo sections, on the mountains near Gogaran and Saralanj villages and near Urasar and Tsaghkaber villages;
- In Syunik province: in the areas of Ishkhanasar, in Ishkhanasar–Noravan sections and near Verin Hand settelment of Kajaran;
- In Kotayk province: in “Dzorkash” area of Makravan block of Hrazdan;
- In Aragatsotn province: near Aparan Reservoir.
The fire in "Kazakh" section of Dilijan town of Tavush province was localized. Intensive firefighting operations continue in the mentioned section and near Dzorashen settlement of Shirak province, in the forest adjacent to Dilijan curves and near "Mountain Armenia" sanatorium in Dilijan town of Tavush province.
The grasslands were burnt and the trees was heat-damaged as a result of the fires.
The residents of neighboring communities also actively joined the firefighting operations, supporting the rescuers in their complex and responsible activities.
The situation is fully under the control of the Rescue Service. Simultaneously, we inform you that if it is necessary to involve volunteer groups, the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs will make a corresponding official statement.

The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges community residents to avoid burns while clearing dry grass and croplands in pastures and to refrain from actions that contribute to fires. Strictly observe fire safety rules.
