Subdivisions of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of RA MIA conducted man-made rock-fall activities to reduce potential rock-fall risks

Based on studies conducted on the roads of the Republic of Armenia, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is carrying out preventive measures to reduce potential hazards. These measures include for man-made rock-fall removal activities in the most dangerous sections of roads of various significance.
As a result of a study conducted by Kotayk Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of "Kotayk Road Maintenance and Construction" LLC and officers of the Patrol Service Battalion of Kotayk Regional Division of the Police of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was determined that there is a risk of rock-fall on both sides of the M4 section Yerevan-Sevan roadway between 23.5 and 27.5 km.
Therefore, on March 18, from 10:00 to 15:20, man-made rock-fall activities were conducted alongside the specified section of the road based on necessity.
The activities involved 26 personnel from the Rescue Service the Kotayk Regional Rescue Department, as well as the operative squads of the Abovyan, Charentsavan, Yeghvard and "Hrazdan" TPP Fire and Rescue Squads. The activities was organized and carried out in cooperation with "Kotayk Road Maintenance and
Construction" LLC and the Patrol Service Battalion of the Kotayk region of the Police of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
These operations are ongoing and, if necessary, will be conducted in other areas of the Republic as well.
