Working meeting on population protection and civil defense issues in emergency situations at the RA Shirak Regional Administration
On February 11, the Head of the Shirak Regional Rescue Department of RS of MIA, r/s Colonel Armen Apoyan, held a working meeting at the Shirak Regional Administration with the Governor of Shirak David Arushanyan and Deputy Governor Albert Ayvazyan.
During the meeting, the activity in the field of population protection in emergency situations was discussed, as well as the key issues in the civil defense and the specific steps aimed at addressing these challenges.
The meeting presented the measures planned within the framework of the 2025 programs, addressing topics such as population protection in Shirak region, prevention of potential emergencies, mitigation of their results, warning systems and planned training exercises. The discussion also focused on collaboration with services and organizations operating under the regional administration and covered a range of issues related to the field.
Special attention was given to the issue of preventing possible spring floods in 2025, including the need to avoid neglecting measures such as cleaning drainage channels and other preventive actions, as well as ensuring the maintenance of basements used as shelters.
During the meeting, winter weather conditions and the maintenance of roadways in the region were key topics of discussion. It was also noted that additional steps are needed to address the effects of weather-related obstacles quickly and effectively.
The importance of cooperation with services and organizations operating under the Shirak Regional Administration was also emphasized to ensure the effective coordination of actions and rapid response to potential threats.
As a result of the meeting, specific steps were outlined to increase security and ensure maximum protection for the population.
