Safe community: Rescue Service conducted discussion and practical drill in Gegharkunik province

As part of efforts to develop a safety culture, enhance the response to emergency situations, and improve the civil protection system, the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service regularly carries out various activities.

In that context, another event was held by the staff of Gegharkunik Regional Rescue Department.

The rescuers conducted discussions and consultations in Gavar community on “Prevention of emergencies typical to the region and issues of civil protection”, as well as practical drills on “Warning, evacuation, shelter.”

During the event, the main risks specific to Gegharkunik province - earthquakes, floods, landslides, and technogenic (man-made) emergencies—were presented. Participants were introduced to the rules of conduct during emergencies. In the course of the practical drills, evacuation and sheltering actions were carried out, and civil defense sirens were activated. Participants learned about alert signals and received detailed answers to their questions.

It was emphasized that timely alerting, organized evacuation, and proper selection of shelter locations can save lives and reduce material losses in emergency situations.

Such events, conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service throughout the provinces of the Republic, are ongoing and aim to promote a culture of safety and ensure coordinated actions during emergencies.
