On December 19, at 05:57 an emergency call was received to Vayots Dzor Regional Crisis Management Center that car accident had occurred in Vayk town: the car fell into a gorge.

One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that “Mercedes-Benz” truck (driver H. M.) ran off the roadway, collided with a gas pipeline and fell onto the banks of Arpa River on the 140th km of Yerevan-Meghri roadway: there was a leak  from the gas pipeline.

The employees of the gas emergency service stopped the gas leak.

The rescuers disconnected automotive battery of the truck, blocked off the area and removed the gas pipe.
The special equipment was needed to pull the truck out of the gorge.
