On October 24, at 15:55 an emergency call was received to Vayots Dzor Regional Crisis Management Center that car accident had occurred at the crossroads of the road leading to the Noravank monastery complex: there were casualties.

One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that “Toyota” (driver K. Z. born in 1970) and "Nissan" (driver H. A. born in 1966) cars collided on the 110th km of Yerevan-Meghri roadway: the latter appeared in the Arpa river.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver of "Toyota" car, passengers E. M. (born in 2017), Kh. G. (born in 2004), G. M. (born in 1975), A. D. (born in 1995) and A. A. (born in 2000) had been taken out of the car by the local forces and hospitalized in a medical center.

The rescuers disconnected the automotive battery and closed the gas valve of "Toyota" car.

The rescuers pulled "Nissan" car out of the river with the help of special equipment, loaded “Toyota" car onto a tow truck and implemented road washing activities.
