On August 31, at 11:24 an emergency call was received to Gegharkunik Regional Crisis Management Center that car accident had occurred near Tsovinar village: there were casualties.

One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MIA of RA dispatched to the scene. 

It turned out that "Mercedes-Benz" (driver A. S. born in 1975) and "Reno" (driver G. B. born in 1984) cars collided on the 15th km of Martuni-Vardenis roadway.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the passenger of "Mercedes-Benz" car K. M. (born in 1997), the driver of "Reno" car, passengers D. A. (born in 1989) and K. A. (born in 1987) had been pulled out of the cars by the local forces and hospitalized in a medical center, where their health condition was assessed as fair.

The rescuers disconnected the automotive batteries and closed the gas valves of the cars, pulled the passenger H. G. (born in 1935) out  of "Reno" car and moved to the ambulance. The casualty was hospitalized in a medical center, where his health condition was assessed as fair.
