On August 2, at 20:32, an emergency call was received to the Shirak Regional Crisis Management Center that a car accident had occurred on Ashotsk-Gyumri roadway.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that at the 15th km of the Ashotsk-Gyumri roadway, a “Jeep” car had veered off the roadway and rolled approximately 40 meters into a ravine. The body of the driver was found trapped inside the vehicle, while the body of a passenger was discovered about 5 meters away.

Rescuers disconnected the vehicle’s power supply and assisted an injured passenger to an ambulance. The casualty was transferred to a medical center.

The rescuers removed the driver's body from the vehicle and, along with the passenger’s body, transferred them to the mortuary vehicle.
