RS Regional Departments conducted the various activities in November aimed not only at ensuring the preparedness of the public and state structures to respond to emergencies but also at impact on development of the capacity building of quick response, reducing the results and ensuring the population protection.

At the initiative of the Kotayk Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a seminar-discussion was held with civil defense officials from the regional community municipalities in collaboration with the departments of local self-government bodies and the mobilization preparation department of Kotayk Regional Administration. The issues related to the implementation of preparatory measures for civil defense in province were discussed within the framework of the event, especially the training of the population (knowledge of warning sirens, shelters, rules of conduct), the improvement of means of warning and informing the population, the development of civil defense plans, as well as action plan related for mobilization readiness.

Training courses on "Warning, evacuation, shelter", "Organization and implementation of personnel shelter in case of an "Air-raid” warning siren", "Rules of conduct for the population during an earthquake", "Organization of population evacuation" were organized and held in the educational complexes of province, while at the same time, a special tactical training exercise on "Implementation of fire extinguishing and evacuation in case of a fire in a fire-explosive object" was held at the "Srap Tovmasyan" IE gas station in Zoravan village.

Tavush Regional Rescue Department organized and conducted special tactical exercises on the topics of "Firefighting operations in administrative buildings", "Organization of firefighting and rescue operations in fire-explosion hazardous facilities," and "Road maintenance operations in case of heavy snow and black ice" at the administrative building in Gandzakar settlement, in the LRGS in Koghb village of Noyemberyan community and in "Levon 2 RCC" LLC in order to improve the practical skills of response forces for carrying out urgent accident recovery activity.

Exercise on "Execution of population warning, shelter and evacuation in case of an “Air-raid” warning siren" were conducted by the regional rescue department squads in the settlements of Barekamavan, Voskevaz, Koti, and Voskepar in Noyemberyan community. Additionally, the pupils and teaching staff of "Kindergarten named after Janet Mardigian" SNPO in Ijevan town was visited by Ijevan Fire and Rescue Squad for an educational tour to show the firefighting and rescue equipment used in emergency response situations, and inform about its features and the capabilities of firefighting vehicles.

A series of activities were organized by the employees of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department and its subordinate units. Specifically, special tactical exercises on "Firefighting, evacuation and first aid organization in educational institutions" were conducted by Fire and Rescue Squads personnel in secondary schools. Meanwhile, the Regional Rescue Department staff participated in in a staff exercise on "Organization of civil protection measures during the transition from peace to martial law" at the Shamirami community administration. Concurrently, exercises on "Organization of population warning, evacuation and shelter" were also held in province. 

In accordance with the Action Plan of the Ararat Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for November aimed at assisting in the development of the tactical thinking of group and shift leaders, improving the skills of managing forces and resources during fires and improving skills during practical evacuation, special tactical training exercises were conducted at the "Tsaghik Muradyan", "Van-OIL" and "Hakob Amiryan" individual entrepreneur by the Artashat, Vedi and Ararat Regional Rescue Departments on "Organization and implementation of fireextinguishing in fire-explosive facilities".

At the same time, training exercises on "Organization and implementation of personnel shelter in case of an "Air-raid" warning siran" were conducted by employees of the Regional Rescue Department and subordinate units in secondary schools in Sis and Sayat Nova settlements.

The rescuers of Armavir RRD subdivisions conducted practical training on "Warning, shelter and evacuation" using civil defense sirens in Lernagog and Shenik settlements of Baghramyan community and provided shelter to pupils and teaching staff of the school. In addition, alongside the employees of the Armavir Regional Department of RS of MIA, training courses on "Rules of conduct for the population during an earthquake", "Fire safety rules" and "Organization of population evacuation" were organized and conducted in 14 educational institutions, as well as a headquarters training exercise on "Organization of population protection in the event of a risk of Aparan reservoir dam collapse" was conducted in Armavir Regional Administration with its staff.

In accordance with the Action Plan of Gegharkunik Regional Rescue Department for 2024, a special tactical training exercise was held at the secondary school in Jaghatsadzor settlement on “Firefighting and evacuation in schools” aimed at maintaining and developing the skills and combat readiness of the fire and rescue squad personnel at critical facilities on a high basis.

During the month, training courses were also held in a number of educational institutions on “Rules of behavior of the population during an earthquake” and “Organization of population evacuation”.

The headquarters training on "Organization of population protection measures in case of a strong earthquake" was held in Shirak Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service.

The event aimed to test and improve the skills and abilities of the participants in organizing and implementing measures aimed at protecting the population in case of a strong earthquake, at the same time to test the realism on “Action Plan for a strong earthquake of Shirak province of RA".

The participants of the training presented their work on organizing and implementing population protection measures in case of a strong earthquake in their reports, according to the tasks and proposed including relevant topics in professional training courses to eliminate shortcomings.

The headquarters exercise on "Organization of population protection measures in case of rock-fall" was conducted in Vayots Dzor province in order to test the preparedness of the leadership of Yeghegis community in case of an emergency situation and eliminate its results, as well as to improve the skills of the persons involved in the exercise in organizing and practical implementation of rescue and other urgent activities.

The participants of the exercise discussed their actions on site and presented relevant reports on the measures taken.

Special tactical training exercises were conducted by the employees of the Regional Rescue Department in the kindergarten in Rind settlement of Areni community and in Jermuk secondary school No. 3 on “Firefighting in the auxiliary building of the kindergarten” and “Firefighting in secondary school No. 3”, respectively.

The training exercises yielded positive results, increasing the professional knowledge of the staff.
As a result of cooperation and high responsibility of the pedagogical staff, the results of the training were assessed as good.

The positive results and the experience gained were important step not only in reducing the risks of emergency situations, but also in developing joint actions and ensuring the protection of citizens. However, permanent activity requires the elimination of shortcomings and the development of skills to be ready for new challenges. Such events contribute to the acquisition of vast experience and increasing the security of communities.
