Since June 28, the Rescue Service of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a number of emergency calls regarding damage due to strong winds. Information was received from Armavir, Ararat provinces and a number of administrative districts of Yerevan regarding bent and fallen trees, as well as damage to roofs of buildings and advertising boards.

The relevant departments of the Rescue Service responded promptly to all cases, pursuing the rapid elimination of the results of emergency situations due to the wind, the prevention of further possible dangers and the safety of the population and infrastructure.

In particular, on June 28, rescue operations were conducted on Gyulikevkhyan and Vazgen Sargsyan streets of Yerevan city. The activities on dismemberment, removal of fallen and dangerous trees and blocking off the scene were carried out on the spot.

On June 30, numerous emergency calls were registered due to strong winds not only in Yerevan, but also in Armavir town of Armavir province and Ararat town of Ararat province.

The Rescue Service registered and served 14 cases, 9 of which were on Mamikonyants, Andranik, Ler Kamsar, Shinararner, Nikoghayos Tigranyan, Buzhorabchir streets and Mashtots Avenue of Yerevan city.

At the addresses, rescuers implemented activities on dismembering and removing fallen trees, as well as dismantling and strengthening damaged roof structures.

The Armavir Regional Crisis Management Center received an emergency call that the roof of a building had been torn off by the wind and fallen on parked cars on Mkhitar Heratsi street in Armavir town: 8 cars were damaged.

The rescuers dispatched to the scene implemented dismantling activities on the roof with an area of about 500 square meters, as well as on the iron fences of two buildings with an area of about 60 meters. As a result of the operative actions by the rescuers the emergency situation was eliminated.

Another emergency call was received that the roof of a building had been torn off and fall on a gas distribution station due to the wind on Baghramyan Street in Armavir town.

With the help of engineering equipment, the rescuers dismantled the roof with iron structures of the building, about 450 square meters and removed it from the gas distribution station. 23 rescuers participated in the dismantling activities.

At the crossroads of Yerevanyan-Baghramyan Streets, the rescuers alongside employees of the relevant organization, dismantled a weakened advertising board.

The rescuers alongside citizens, dismembered and moved 2 trees in Shenik settlement of Armavir province.

The rescue units implemented activities to strengthen the roof of a house in Ararat town of Ararat province.

According to the information received, 11 vehicles were damaged as a result of strong winds.
