According to the order of the Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan, from February 3 to 6 a training was held at No. 5 Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department. The course was organized by the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center on "Conducting rescue operations during road traffic accidents". The training was led by the Chief specialists-instructors of the Center for professional training.
The course consisted of both theoretical and practical parts, aimed at enhancing the professional skills of the rescuers in performing emergency rescue operations during road traffic accidents, as well as familiarizing them with innovative methods. During the theoretical sessions, the rescuers were introduced to the types of road traffic accidents and the organization of rescue operations in such cases. They also learned about the specifics of providing first aid to the casualties of road accidents, as well as various issues related to the equipment, technologies and safety regulations followed by rescuers. Highlighting the importance of providing prompt and proper assistance to casualties in the RTAs, the most common casualties, the nuances of working in each case and the equipment used were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the practical part of the course, during which participants had the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
Specifically, the practical exercises focused on the more complex types of RTAs, such as overturned vehicles, those that had crashed into a ravine or difficult-to-reach areas and the subsequent elimination of the consequences. The training also covered proper and safe vehicle fixation techniques, as well as the use of rescue equipment to safely extricate victims from the vehicle.
"First and foremost, we introduce the rescuers to how to properly organize the process of eliminating the consequences of road traffic accidents, which tools to use, and at the same time, what modern methods can be applied when the necessary tools are unavailable. We have addressed the more complex types of RTAs, particularly considering the challenging mountainous terrain typical of Armenia, where a vehicle may end up in a ravine. In such cases, alpine techniques and technology must be applied. This involves descending to the vehicle, securing it and then carrying out the casualty's extrication", said Chief Specialist-Instructor Sergey Gordyushin.
In such training courses, firefighters and rescuers not only acquire the necessary skills and knowledge but also gain confidence, which was crucial for responding quickly to road traffic accidents and saving lives.
The participants received certificates of completion Upon successfully completing the training.
