On July 19, at 09:56 an emergency call was received to Kotayk Regional Crisis Management Center that a fire had broken out in an apartment on the 9th floor of the building in 4th micro district in Abovyan town.

Three fire units and one autoladder from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Yerevan and Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that the fire broke out in the electrical meter panel located on the 9th floor, causing smoke to spread into the apartments on that floor.

The rescuers opened the doors of two apartments and evacuated 8 people. Emergency medical personnel provided first aid on site, and no hospitalization was needed. An additional 15 residents were evacuated from other floors of the building.

The fire was localized at 10:41 and extinguished at 11:05. The electrical meter panel, a storage room containing household items, and the doors of two apartments were burnt.

The rescuers managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the apartments.
