On July 22, at 16:53 an emergency call was received to Syunik Crisis Management Center that a truck had been on fire on Meghri-Vardanidzor roadway.

Fire units and an operative group from the subdivisions of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that at the 10th kilometer of the Meghri-Vardanidzor highway, the driver’s cabin of a bitumen-loaded truck was on fire: the fire spread to the adjacent grassland.

Before the rescuers arrived on the scene the passenger had been transferred to the medical center.

The rescuers extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading both to the loaded bitumen and from the grassland to the forest.

Officers from the Eco-Patrol Service assisted in the firefighting activities.
