The Rescue Service of MIA in cooperation with the Police of MIA Ministry of Internal Affairs, implemented removal activity of Icicles of Yerevan city and the provinces in order to ensure the safety of citizens.

The rescuers, using special equipment, implemented removal activity of hanging icicles and ice formed in gutters from the roofs of public buildings and apartment buildings, bridges, tunnel, and overpasses.

On February 22-23, an emergency call was received to the Crisis Management National Center of MIA that icicle had been hung from bridges, tunnels, residential buildings and roofs of schools and kindergartens.

The cases handled were mainly related to icicles hanging from the roofs of administrative buildings, bridges, tunnels and schools.

The activity will be ongoing due to seasonal characteristics, as well as in order to exclude the unpredictable consequences of the thaw.
