Rescue Service summarizes the activities carried out in the month of July

In July 2025, various training exercises and drills were organized and conducted by the subordinate units of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. These activities were aimed at increasing public preparedness, enhancing the response capabilities of relevant institutions, and strengthening interagency cooperation.

Emphasizing the importance of prompt fire suppression and the skillful, safe evacuation of people, Yerevan, as well as Kotayk, Shirak, and Tavush Regional Rescue Departments conducted special tactical and site-specific training exercises in several kindergartens and organizations. These drills focused on the “Organization and implementation of fire suppression and evacuation operations” and aimed to improve participants’ practical skills and ensure preparedness for quick and coordinated responses during emergencies.

A special tactical training exercise was also held by the Fire-Rescue and Engineering Squad from the Collective Center for Civil Protection Forces of Civil Protection Department. The exercise, themed “Organization and implementation of demining activities in open areas upon detection of an explosive object,” aimed to enhance the personnel’s practical skills and improve the effectiveness of responses in cases involving explosive materials, ensuring both the safety of the team and the precision of operations.

Given the fire-prone weather conditions, a demonstrational special tactical exercise titled “Fire suppression in forested and grass-covered areas” was conducted in Syunik province. The main objective was to strengthen the professional preparedness of the involved personnel, deepen their theoretical knowledge, and improve their practical skills for effective response to emergencies, particularly for wildland and grassland fire suppression.

In several communities of the Tavush province, awareness-raising and educational sessions were conducted to enhance the population’s level of preparedness. These sessions covered several key topics, including: “Behavioral guidelines and warning signals during and after floods”, “The dangers of burning grass in fields and orchards and the importance of its prevention” and “Fire safety rules.”

Working groups from Armavir, Kotayk, Gegharkunik and Tavush Regional Rescue Departments also took part in staff training exercises held at local municipality offices. These exercises focused on the following critical topics: “Organization of reception and life support for evacuated populations”, “Fire suppression in fields and pastures”, “Organization of forest fire suppression”, “Organizing population protection and mitigating consequences during strong winds”, “Organizing protection measures and dealing with consequences in case of a strong earthquake” and “Implementation of population protection measures in the event of an epidemic”.

Such activities represent an important step toward the effective implementation of preventive measures and the strengthening of disaster response capacity.
