Rescue Service of the MIA held events dedicated to Disaster Resilience Day

On the instructions of Kamo Tsutsulyan, Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA, the subdivisions of the Rescue Service organized and held events on "Disaster Resilience Day" throughout the Republic on December 4-11, which involved both state structures and local self-government bodies, as well as general education, secondary vocational education institutions and other interested organizations.

Within the framework of the events, workshops, seminars and practical trainings were held in Yerevan and the provinces aimed at reducing disaster risk, strengthening population protection mechanisms and forming a more resilient society.

The purpose of the initiative was to increase public preparedness at all levels, from schools to communities, paying special attention to gender issues in the field of population protection in emergency situations and the needs of people with disabilities.

The main topic of the events was the rules of conduct during and after the earthquake. including the correct selection of protected areas, preparation of an emergency kit, advance planning of evacuation routes, first aid skills.

Thematic flyers on the rules of conduct during an earthquake and other emergencies were distributed to the participants, as well as "Guidebook for codes of conduct for disasters threatening Armenia" and “If crisis or war comes”.

Such events provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between state and local self-government bodies, organizations and the population, contributing to the formation of a resilient society.
