Avoid being in open areas

It is advisable to avoid open areas during strong winds, especially in locations with tall and old trees that may fall. Be careful of nearby structures, as unsecured construction elements might collapse. Therefore, make sure that the surrounding area is free of potential hazards.

Move to safe areas

If you are already in an open area or your home does not provide adequate protection, quickly move to a safer place, closer to more solid structures. Stay inside whenever possible.

Stay away from lighting systems and electric poles.

If you are on the street or outdoors, stay away from electric poles and lanterns, as strong winds increase the likelihood of them falling or causing accidents.

Check windows and doors while at home

Windows and doors should be securely fixed to their frames to prevent them from opening or being damaged by the wind. If there are broken or open windows in any part of the apartment or house, they must be fixed or closed before the winds intensify.

Avoid using heavy objects

Strong winds can damage any items left in open areas. Do not leave heavy objects (such as construction materials, roofing sheets or furniture) in open spaces or gardens. If such items are present, ensure they are moved to a safe location before the winds intensify.

Do not park vehicles under trees or tall structures

Avoid parking vehicles under trees or tall buildings to reduce the risk of damage. Pay special attention to tall, damaged trees and unsecured roofing sheets, as they may fall and cause harm to vehicles.

Take necessary documents and chargers

Power outages are possible in case of strong winds. Be prepared for the possible results: keeping important documents and a mobile phone (with sufficient charge) with you in case the situation worsens.

Please call 911 (112) in case of an emergency situation.

Dear citizens, remember that the strong winds' results can be reduced only with proper preparation and strict adherence to safety rules.
