Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service summarize the months of March and April

During March and April, a number of training and exercises aimed at increasing the preparedness of the population in various emergency situations were organized and conducted by the units subordinate to the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in all regions of the Republic.

The month of March was particularly marked by events aimed at civil defense, simultaneously during the two months, both theoretical and practical events on other topics were organized and held by the subdivisions of the RS Regional Rescue Departments of MIA in about 260 educational institutions and organizations. 

In particular, a number of headquarters exercises were conducted, which related to the organization and implementation of population protection measures in case of a threat of mudslides, strong winds, strong earthquakes and floods, sudden activation of landslides, large forest fires, the organization and implementation of civil defense measures during the transition of the civil defense system from peacetime to wartime, as well as in the event of unplanned, nuclear and radiation accidents at the Armenian NPP.

Meetings of the disaster risk management council were held, during which the operative situation of fire danger and the activity carried out to ensure fire safety were presented, a number of issues aimed at preventing possible spring floods and fires were discussed, recommendations were presented and relevant recommendations and instructions were given.

Fire safety constantly requires attention and responsibility in order to ensure maximum safety for every person. Regarding this, special tactical exercises were conducted, which concerned the organization and implementation of fire extinguishing and evacuation activities in high-rise buildings, industrial and fire-explosive facilities, the organization of population protection in case of a strong earthquake in the regions, as well as in the area of 220 KV open distribution equipment - in case of the fire in an oil circuit breaker, short circuit, gas leak, evacuation and first aid were also addressed.

Trainings on "Rules of conduct during and after floods" and "Warning sirens" were held, aimed at preventing the occurrence of floods and enhancing public preparedness. At the same time, the goal was to develop informed and appropriate behavior among participants before, during and after floods, thereby contributing to the improvement of their overall preparedness.

With the aim of educating and informing the population as much as possible about various emergency situations and teaching appropriate behavior, the training series also included the following topics: "How to protect yourself during an earthquake?", "Correct orientation in case of an emergency situations", "The procedure for warning the population, rules of conduct in case of warning sirens", "Damage from burning grass in fields and gardens and the importance of its prevention", "Warning, evacuation, shelter", "Rules of conduct during an earthquake", "Fire safety rules", "Emergency situations typical of the region, their prevention and civil defense issues".

The active operations of the RS Regional units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during March and April including various drills and awareness training sessions reflect a systematic and consistent effort aimed at enhancing public preparedness in emergency situations. This represents a significant step toward ensuring public safety, effectively implementing preventive measures and reducing the risks associated with natural and man-made disasters.
