Regarding cases registered at the Rescue Service of MIA due to strong winds, torrential rain and hail from June 14- to 16 in 2025

From June 14 to 15, the Rescue Service of MIA received emergency calls about the results of strong winds, heavy rain and hail in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Lori, Tavush provinces and Yerevan city.

The Rescue Service units, in cooperation with the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs implemented the necessary actions arising from the situation: blocked off the scene, dismantling of roofs and constructions, strengthening of rainwater pipes, dismantling and removal of fallen trees.

A total of 38 cases were registered from June 14 to 15 due to strong winds, 1 of which in Yerevan, 3 in Aragatsotn, 1 in Lori and 33 in Shirak provinces. There were no victims or casualties.

6 vehicles were damaged as a result of hail in Tavush, Lori, and Shirak provinces from June 14 to 15.

On June 15, from 16:10, emergency calls were received that strong winds (the wind speed reached up to 39.2 m/s) in Aparan and the Lusagyugh settlement damaged the roofs of buildings and vehicles, fell trees and electricity poles, as well as solar power plants and water heaters. 

According to information received from the Aparan Municipality, as of June 16 at 09:00 the roofs of 20 apartment buildings, 86 private houses, 3 schools, 1 cultural center, 2 territorial subdivisions of law enforcement agencies and 24 administrative buildings of organizations had been damaged. Additionally, 70 electricity poles, 30 vehicles and 2 playgrounds were damaged. More than 100 trees were fallen.

Personnel mobilization was announced at the Aragatsotn, Armavir and Kotayk regional rescue departments and at the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Service. 

6 fire units, 8 operative groups and 154 rescuers were involved in the rescue operations, who removed and secured dangerous plates and constructions, as well as cut and removed trees fallen on traffic lanes and vehicles.

There were five casualties: they hospitalized and received necessary medical care.

On June 16, at 07:30, 205 rescuers were involved in the resumed activities.
