Rapid response as a priority for the Rescue Service of MIA: training sessions held in Lori and Shirak

The specialists from the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Situation Monitoring Division of the Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a professional training on "For first responders to Radiological, Chemical, and Biological accidents" in Lori and Shirak provinces from September 16 to 19.
Theoretical and practical training sessions were attended by 34 members of the Fire and Rescue Squads from Vanadzor and Gyumri, who were part of specialized teams trained to respond to radiological, chemical and biological (RCB) emergencies.
The aim of the training was to improve and develop the professional capabilities, practical skills and safety mechanisms of fire and rescue squads of Vanadzor and Gyumri towns in responding to RCB accidents in emergency conditions.
As a result of the training, the readiness level and practical response capabilities of rescue units operating in the regions were expected to improve, ensuring public safety and a more coordinated and efficient response to emergencies.
The fire and rescue squads trained within the framework of The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Safety Cooperation Program of the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) through the U.S. Embassy in Armenia were provided with new equipment and supplies to enhance training effectiveness and improve response capabilities.
The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to develop and improve the professional training and technical capabilities of first responders, contributing to strengthening public safety and ensuring a rapid and effective response to emergencies.
