Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced newly appointed Minister Arpine Sargsyan to the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Nikol Pashinyan thanked Vahe Ghazaryan for the work and contribution he made as Minister of Internal Affairs. "I must state that Mr. Ghazaryan's role in the beginning and successful course of police reforms is undeniable. And he, in fact, being a long-time police officer, made a very direct and great contribution to police reforms, and later to the process of forming the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I must also state that Mr. Ghazaryan's tenure in office, in fact, coincided with a very difficult period. He was appointed Head of the Police during the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by the wartime period, the difficult circumstances and aftermath that ensued. And the work he has done during this time, of course, is worthy of high praise," stated the Prime Minister. The Head of State added that in general, during this difficult period, the Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the leadership of Vahe Ghazaryan were able to maintain law and order in Armenia. "At the same time, there has been a very extensive reform process. In fact, during the existence of our Republic, perhaps in recent years, the largest investments have been made in the police system and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In fact, this is the biggest and most extensive change that has occurred since the early 90s: And I thank Mr. Ghazaryan for leading all these works," the Prime Minister concluded.

Afterwards Nikol Pashinyan then introduced the newly appointed Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan: According to the Prime Minister, Arpine Sargsyan has also made a very significant contribution to police reforms and the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "Even as Deputy Minister of Justice, she, in fact, made a very great contribution and participated in meaningful work on reforms. From the very first day of the Ministry's formation, she held the position of Deputy Minister and during this time, of course, she was one of the active participants in this process, a person who, in fact, fully owns the content," the Head of State said and expressed confidence that Arpine Sargsyan had become her own in the system during this time. Nikol Pashinyan wished success in assuming this responsible position and expressed hope that the Police, Rescue Service, and other departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be involved in the reform process at the same pace and with the same zeal.

Vahe Ghazaryan, in turn, expressed deep gratitude to the Prime Minister for his trust, for appointing him to the post of Head of the Police and the Minister of Internal Affairs. "I would like to congratulate Mrs. Sargsyan on her appointment to this position and thank all the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their unconditional dedication to serving the Republic of Armenia during my tenure," Vahe Ghazaryan said.

Arpine Sargsyan also thanked the Prime Minister for the high trust and noted that her experience in the system and the results of the extensive work done under the leadership of Vahe Ghazaryan will allow her to work effectively and achieve new accomplishments in the field of internal security for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia, while upholding the principles adopted by the Government and the spirit underlying those. "These three services, which are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry, have perhaps the largest area of influence in terms of public engagement, and therefore, from the perspective of public trust, their expectations are much more tangible, much more noticeable. We should note that over the past two years or so, we have increased public confidence in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and I would like to express my firm belief that the professional team of the Ministry, under my leadership and, of course, Mr. Prime Minister, with your support and your trust, will continue to take consistent steps to further strengthen this trust, ensure an even higher level of public safety for the Republic of Armenia and its citizens. Under your leadership, the Ministry has gone through a rather difficult and challenging phase, and I am confident that with your trust, we will continue to achieve new accomplishments with the team," said Arpine Sargsyan․
