"In 2023, the Crisis Management National Center recorded 42 explosions, resulting in 6  victims and 53 casualties. As of August 31, 2024, we have already seen 34 explosions, with 9 victims and 39 casualties", said the Head of Operational Shifts Department of Crisis Management National Center of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs,  r/s Major Artur Vardanyan during a press briefing at "Armenpress".

He reported that 24 out of 34 explosions were linked to gas leaks, with approximately 30 gas explosions recorded in 2023.

According to A. Vardanyan, in nearly all explosion cases, failure to follow basic safety precautions was observed. He mentioned that the primary causes of these explosions were gas cylinders and gas leaks.

Artur Vardanyan urged the citizens to always keep gas leak detectors active in their apartments and to avoid leaving small gas cylinders connected for extended periods, as this can lead to leaks. He also stressed the importance of not smoking or turning on electrical appliances if there is a gas odor and urged everyone to follow safety regulations in daily life, while driving and at gas stations.
