Operative and coordinated activities of rescuers on snowy roads
From 08:00 on January 14 to 08:00 on January 16, the Crisis Management National and Regional Centers of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received emergency calls regarding the stuck vehicles due to heavy snowfall throughout the Republic.
Responding promptly to the situation, the Rescue Service units in cooperation with the Police Patrol Service, local government representatives and "CHANSHIN" employees pulled stuck 89 vehicles out and provided appropriate assistance to 148 citizens.
In particular, thanks to the coordinated actions of rescuers, six citizens were moved to a safe area from the Artashavan-Saghmosavan roadway.
The roadway from Shurnukh village to “Devil’s Bridge” was closed due to a truck stuck in the snow, resulting in a traffic jam for about 400 cars. The rescuers from Goris Fire and Rescue Squad towed the stuck truck out for about 500 meters. At the same time, joint activities were conducted with the Patrol Service; as a result the traffic flow was restored.
According to another emergency call, an ambulance was unable to continue its way to Goghtanik village of Vayots Dzor province due to heavy snow to provide assistance to an unwell citizen. The rescuers moved the emergency personal to the scene in a rescue vehicle, then safely transported the citizen and moved to the ambulance.
