On June 11, at 08։34 an emergency call was received to Gegharkunik Regional Crisis Management Center that fire had broken out in a building in Chambarak town.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department and two rescue groups with cynologists from the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of Rescue Forces Department and psychologists of the Psychological Assistance Division of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

According to preliminary data, a gas explosion with collapse occurred at an apartment on the third floor in a building on Tigran Mets Street. Apartments on the 4th, 3rd and 2nd floors collapsed. Apartments in the adjacent entrance partially collapsed.

A large number of forces from the Rescue Service of MIA were involved in the search and rescue operations: from the Kotayk, Lori, Gegharkunik, Tavush Regional Rescue Departments and the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department.

The activity at the scene was led by the Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA, r/s Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan.

The number of victims has increased to four: as of 14:48, the rescuers found and removed the dead body of a man from the rubble.
