On November 20, Kamo Tsutsulyan, the Director of the Rescue Service and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, met with representatives from the U. S. European Command-Tbilisi Office of Defense Cooperation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Embassy Defense Cooperation Office and CESCO (Construction and engineering services) Co. Ltd.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Directors of the Rescue Service, the Heads of Armavir and Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Departments and the Head of the Construction Planning and Supervision Division of the Economic Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The main topic of discussion was the plans for new buildings for Fire and Rescue Squads to be constructed in Armavir, Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik provinces, as well as the commissioning of the completed building in Stepanavan town in Lori province.

Kamo Tsutsulyan emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the United States in this sector, stating that the Rescue Service will continue to carry out its tasks within its mandate to ensure that the completed building is handed over for operation within the shortest time frame and that the construction of other buildings proceeds effectively.

The representatives from the U.S. European Command Army Engineer Corps presented the current progress of the newly constructed building for Stepanavan Fire and Rescue Squad, noting that the main construction work has been completed, and the building will be handed over to the Rescue Service for operation by December 15.

A reference has also been made to the design and organizational issues regarding the construction of new buildings for Baghramyan and Yeghegnadzor Fire and Rescue Squads and Sevan Water and Rescue Squad, which are being built to meet U.S. standards. It was noted that the construction work for these buildings is expected to be completed by September 2025. The parties discussed the details of the construction, the terrain and site-specific issues, as well as the challenges and needs that have emerged during the process.

To find appropriate solutions to these issues, the parties agreed to organize additional preparatory work under the supervision of the Rescue Service to ensure that the construction proceeds within the planned timelines, and the buildings are commissioned on schedule.

The U.S. representatives expressed their readiness to provide training for the personnel responsible for the maintenance and operation of the buildings to ensure effective operation and maintenance standards.
