Japan to continue supporting Armenia in Disaster Risk Management: RS Director received Permanent Representative of JICA Georgia Office

On August 4, Director of RS - Deputy Minister of IA Aram Ghazaryan received the Permanent Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Georgia Masahiro Ueki, and JICA Program Coordinator in Armenia Ruzan Khozhikyan.
Aram Ghazaryan highlighted the effective cooperation with JICA, noting that the programs implemented with the support of the agency have made a significant contribution to the technical re-equipment of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the development of professional skills of the staff, and the improvement of the disaster risk management system.
The Permanent Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Georgia Masahiro Ueki expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted with satisfaction the Armenian side highly appreciates Japan many years of experience in the field of disaster risk management.
The technical replenishment of the Rescue Service, the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the partnership and work together in targeted directions.
