Railway traffic restored after water pipeline accident

On April 16, at 15:10 information was received at the Lori Regional Operational Management Center that due to the water pipeline accident small rocks and soil had fallen onto the railway on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi roadway near Pambak village: the railway section was closed.

One fire-rescue unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA was dispatched to the scene. 

It was established that due to water flow resulting from Novoseltsovo water pipeline accident a rockslide and landslide occurred from the nearby slope which blocked a 30-linear-meter section of the South Caucasus Railway CJSC railway line.

With the help of rescuers, railway workers carried out landslide clearance works․

 Railway traffic has been restored.
