Let’s protect the forests by preventing fire outbreaks—rescuers carry out enhanced duty

July 28 • 11:32, 2025

As summer continues its victorious march, the Rescue Service of the MIA reminds that from June 1 to September 30, forest areas are considered a high-risk fire period. They issue this reminder and have switched to enhanced duty.

According to Shavarsh Grigoryan, commander of Vedi Fire and Rescue Squad, due to the expected high temperatures, starting from July 14, subunits under Ararat Regional Rescue Department, together with Eco-patrol service, have been conducting 24/7 intensified patrols in the areas adjacent to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve to prevent forest fires and reduce the risks of damage to nature.

No one can enter the reserve without registration and notification. Firefighters on round-the-clock duty urge everyone to strictly follow safety rules and avoid creating fire hazards.

The firefighters’ work doesn’t stop there. At various times of the day, rescue groups patrol the areas near the Khosrov Forest State Reserve and use loudspeakers to raise public awareness, calling on people to protect the forests by preventing fires.

Firefighter Taron Andreasyan says that fire trucks are kept fully equipped and ready with all necessary tools to localize and extinguish any fire at an early stage. However, he is confident that if safety rules are followed, the likelihood of fires will remain low.

The Rescue Service urges the public to demonstrate high awareness, observe fire safety regulations, and immediately call 911 if a fire or smoke is spotted in the forest.
