Issues were identified and future actions outlined: Arpine Sargsyan visited the subdivisions of Ararat Regional Rescue Department of Rescue Service of MIA
On December 27, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan held a working meeting at Artashat Division of the Community Police.
The Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, the General Secretary and the leadership of the Ministry participated in the meeting. The heads of the Regional Departments of the subordinate services of the Ministry presented the results of their activity during the reporting period and the operational situation in their areas. The discussion covered various issues, including measures to combat different types of crime, prevention of technogenic disasters, rapid response, capacity building, inter-agency cooperation and personnel policy. Existing shortcomings were identified and solutions were outlined to address the deficiencies.
During her working visit to the Ararat region, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan visited Masis Division of the Migration and Citizenship Service. The Minister spoke with the staff of the subdivision and citizens being served in the form of live queue. Arpine Sargsyan was introduced to the features of the new hybrid electronic queuing system for citizens. The Minister also familiarized herself with the process of issuing biometric passports and identification cards and instructed that staff maintain politeness in their interactions with citizens and provide high-quality service.
On the same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs also visited the Registration and Examination Division of Artashat Police Department. She was introduced to the electronic systems for managing citizen queues and vehicle number plate searches. The Minister toured the citizen service area, visited the room for printing number plates and the room for theoretical driving license qualification exams, getting acquainted with the conditions and equipment. At the driving license practical exam test site (auto-drome), details were presented regarding the citizens' waiting area, the equipment of the test vehicles and the examination process. Arpine Sargsyan spoke with citizens who had visited the division, inquiring about the quality of service and the provided services. The Minister instructed those intensive efforts be made to reduce the waiting times and eliminate any form of corruption.
On the same day, at the Operational Management Center of the Ararat province, Arpine Sargsyan was briefed on the results of the joint operations between the policemen and rescuers. The Minister was introduced to the processes of handling emergency calls, including data processing, transmission and the preparation of operational summaries. She was also briefed on the center's software capabilities, including the patrol unit map, the system for online monitoring of services and the case management system.
