Issues related to the management of hazardous chemicals at the territory of the "Nairit Plant" CJSC were discussed with representatives of the World Bank

Director of the Rescue Service and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan has met with Sanjay Srivastava, the Practice Manager, Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice, Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank and Irina Ghaplanyan, senior specialist in climate affairs.

The meeting was also attended by Tigran Petrosyan, the Deputy Director of the Rescue Service, and Gurgen Martirosyan, the Head of the Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department.

Welcoming the guests, the Head of the Rescue Service highly appreciated the World Bank's readiness to support efforts related to the management of hazardous chemicals at the territory of the "Nairit Plant" CJSC.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Sanjay Srivastava emphasized the importance of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ efforts aimed at resolving the issues at the "Nairit Plant" CJSC site, and then discussed the current situation and possible solutions.

Irina Ghaplanyan, senior specialist in climate affairs, presented the results of the Bank’s studies, highlighting priorities. In particular, she addressed issues such as the mobilization of resources, expert analysis of the situation, topographical mapping, and inter-agency cooperation within the framework of the Project aimed at resolving the identified problems.

On behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a supporting institution, an agreement was reached to continue active cooperation in all directions.
