Issues related to disaster risk reduction and climate change resilience discussed with the expert group of the International Monetary Fund

The expert group of the International Monetary Fund was arrived in Armenia within the framework of the management and assessment of public investments in climate.
On February 16, the Director of RS - Deputy Minister of IA Aram Ghazaryan met with the delegation led by the Head of the Fund Technical Assistance Mission Edmund Patrick Hearn.
The representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Finance participated. Issues related to the national disaster risk management strategy and financial allocations were discussed.
Aram Ghazaryan noted in his speech that the meeting was particular importance in terms of strengthening cooperation and developing effective solutions.
The 2023-2030 Disaster Risk Management Strategy, Action Plan and Priorities were presented.
Reference was made to the Law on Disaster Risk Management and Population Protection, as well as measures aimed at the impact of climatic factors and their resistance. Recommendations on investment mechanisms were also presented.
The modernization of the early warning system and the training of rescuers were emphasized.
The importance of effective investment management in disaster risk reduction and climate change resilience was emphasized.
