Increasing the preparedness of the population, improving the professional skills of rescue workers: training events were held

During the months of September and October, the Collective Center of Civil Defense Forces of the Civil Protection Department of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a number of events aimed both at raising awareness among the staff and students of educational institutions and at enhancing the professional skills of rescuers.

As part of the engineering and demining subject, theoretical and practical training sessions were held at “Heratsi” High School of Yerevan, with the participation of 125 students and teachers. Participants were introduced to the types of mines and explosive materials most commonly found throughout the Republic, the main safety rules to follow upon their discovery, as well as the procedure for calling the emergency number 911.

The purpose of the event was to prevent panic in such situations, ensure effective and safe actions and provide an appropriate response.

At the initiative of the Collective Center of Civil Defense Forces, a special tactical exercise on “Organization and implementation of demining operations in a school with the involvement of sappers” was also conducted at School No. 1 in Nor Geghi village of Kotayk province.

The aim of the exercise was to strengthen the skills of rescue service personnel in the detection and neutralization of unexploded ordnance, as well as to teach teachers and students the correct procedures to follow in case such objects are discovered.

The main stages of demining operations were demonstrated and the process of using the relevant equipment and machinery was presented.

A live-fire exercise was conducted as a test drill for various units to reinforce high combat readiness and strengthen theoretical and practical knowledge.

Such events are held on a continuous basis, contributing both to the improvement of public preparedness and to the enhancement of the professional skills of rescue service personnel.
