In the Republic, efforts continue toward the prevention of wildfires, public awareness, and rapid response in forested and green areas

July 14 • 16:00, 2025

With rising temperatures, the subdivisions of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to carry out extensive measures aimed at preventing forest and vegetation fires, reducing potential risks, and raising public awareness. These efforts are focused on increasing the population’s level of preparedness and encouraging behaviors that reduce the risk of fires.

In accordance with the directive of Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan, the Director of the Rescue Service and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the RA, as of July 14, 2025, a total of 1,850 rescue service employees have been involved in the nationwide awareness campaign.

These awareness activities are being conducted in a coordinated manner across both Yerevan city and the provinces.

Rescue service employees are using loudspeakers and drones to deliver public awareness messages in public spaces, recreational areas, and forest-adjacent zones.

In densely populated areas, 7,400 posters and 2,500 leaflets have been distributed and displayed. These materials present key fire safety rules and important messages, including recommended behavior during high-risk situations.

In fire-prone areas—especially recreational zones and forest-adjacent territories—round-the-clock duty stations have been established to ensure rapid response to potential fires.

Currently, 180 firefighting units, primarily using all-terrain vehicles, are on active duty to ensure operational readiness for emergency situations.

Alongside public awareness and fire response preparedness measures, continuous fire risk monitoring is being carried out in forested and vegetated areas through the joint efforts of rescue service members and eco-patrol service.

The collected data is being analyzed, allowing for more targeted and precise preventive actions, particularly in high-risk zones.

Dear citizens, we urge you to act with maximum responsibility, strictly follow fire safety rules, and in case of a fire or dangerous situation, immediately call 911.

During hot weather conditions, even a small act of negligence can lead to a major wildfire, posing a threat to nature, human life, and property.

Only through joint and responsible behavior can we prevent fires, protect the environment, and ensure everyone’s safety.
