Improving population protection mechanisms, increasing public awareness and resilience: The Rescue Service conducted training events

During February, Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MIA held a number of events aimed at forming a culture of safety, improving population protection mechanisms, raising public awareness and resilience, as well as developing skills to act correctly in emergency situations.

A staff training exercise on "Organization of Population Protection in case of a strong earthquake" was conducted with the participation of the staff of the Head of Nork-Marash administrative district in order to build the capabilities of the management team and employees of responsible departments to organize coordinated actions and effective measures to eliminate possible results of an earthquake.

The special tactical exercises on fire safety were conducted in a number of educational and public institutions. The aim of the exercises was to increase the preparedness of the institution's staff and pupils, develop the skills to act quickly and without panic in emergency situations, as well as ensure the safe organization of evacuation.

A special tactical exercise on "Organization of personnel and pupil protection in case of a fire" was held at Yerevan basic school No.171 named after Karen Asryan. During the exercise, the sequence of response actions in case of a fire was also tested, which gave the participants the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills.

A special tactical training exercises on "Organization and implementation of firefighting operations" were also held at Yerevan Basic School No.177, Kindergarten No.120, and the "Holiday Inn Yerevan - Republic Square by IHG" hotel complex. Participants used primary firefighting equipment and learned the principles of organizing safe and rapid evacuation of people. 

The training sessions and thematic lectures were also held at Yerevan Basic School No.1 named after Stepan Shahumyan and a number of kindergartens. The rules for the correct use of primary fire extinguishing means, the basic principles of first aid, as well as the sequence of organizing evacuation operations were presented.

The educational events regularly held by the Rescue Service among the population are of great importance for correctly orienting themselves in emergency situations, implementing coordinated actions and minimizing possible dangers.
