Head of Rescue Service participates in Russian-Armenian humanitarian response center board meeting in Moscow

A delegation led by Aram Ghazaryan - Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - participated in a board meeting of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center in Moscow.

Also present at the meeting was Vyacheslav Butko, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and Co-Chair of the Center's board.

During the discussions, a number of key issues regarding the Center's operations were addressed. In particular, the list of rescue equipment to be provided free of charge for permanent use to the MIA Rescue Service as a response component was finalized.

The parties emphasized that the measures being implemented were aimed at the technical re-equipment of fire and rescue units and at enhancing the capacity for rapid and effective response to emergency situations.

Special attention was paid to strengthening cooperation with volunteer organizations.

Representatives of both delegations expressed confidence that the decisions made would contribute to the stable and effective functioning of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center throughout the current year.

As part of the visit, the Armenian delegation also familiarized itself with the operations of the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Emergency Situations. In addition, leading practices and methodological approaches in specialist training and rescue operations were presented at the Russian EMERCOM's "Leader" Special Risk Rescue Operations Center and at the Academy of the State Fire Service.
