On August 31, at 10:44 an emergency call was received to Korayk Regional Crisis Management Center that grassland had been on fire on the mountain adjacent to Arzakan village.

The fire units, the operative groups and water tankers from Fire and Rescue Squads of Yerevan and Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

About 100 rescuers from Yerevan and Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service of MIA of RA, employees of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center, the eco-patrol service, the forestry department and residents of Arzakan village were participating in the firefighting operations.

As a result of the prompt actions of the firefighters, it was possible to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses: there were no casualties.

The fire was localized on September 1 at 06:55 and extinguished on September 3 at 18:26. The grassland was burnt.

RS Deputy Directors, r/s Colonel Tigran Petrosyan and r/s Colonel Arsen Mkrtchyan were at the scene.
