On November 21, information was received to Gegharkunik Regional Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA that a fire had broken out in Chambarak-Ttujur section: grassland had been on fire on the hillside.

An appropriate response was organized.  The units from Yerevan, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, and Tavush Regional Rescue Departments, the divisions of the Management Division for Firefighting and Rescue Activities of Yerevan Rescue Department and the Rescue Forces Departments, the rescue group from the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Service of MIA were involved in firefighting operations.

Firefighting operations were implemented throughout the night: the work is ongoing, the fire remains under control.

According to preliminary data, the grassland had been on fire in 3 fire hotspots. The firefighters managed to prevent the wildfire from spreading to wooded areas and residential areas. 

At present, 243 rescuers are engaged in firefighting operations, supported by 6 fire equipment and 6 operative groups.
