Firefighters’ targeted efforts prevented the spread of fires in grasslands areas

On August 6-13, Tavush, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Shirak and Syunik Regional Crisis Management Centers of the Rescue Serive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a number of emergency calls about fires in grasslands and vegetation areas. The emergency calls were recorded in particular in Berdavan, Sevkar, Aygedzor, Choratan, Movses settlements in Tavush province, in Alapars, Kamaris, Zovuni, Karashamb settlements in Kotayk province, in Shinuhayr, Srashen settlements in Syunik province, in Vardakar, Hayrenyats settlements in Shirak province, Gandzak settlement in Gegharkunik province and on Byureghavan-Nurnus roadway.

The Rescue Service promptly responded to all cases, involving the forces and means of regional units in the firefighting operations, including from free shifts.

As a result of the effective and targeted firefighting operations undertaken, which were carried out in areas covering an area of ​​about 10 ha and more, firefighters skillfully and promptly fought against fires, extinguishing and preventing their spread, protecting settlements and nature.

Volunteers from Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squads, representatives of the eco-patrol service and citizens were also involved in the firefighting operations.

The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges to strictly observe fire safety rules, especially in forest areas and recreation areas.
