Firefighters prevented the further spread of fires that broke out in grasslands
From August 2 to 5, the Crisis Management Centers of Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Syunik Regional Rescue Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service received emergency calls about fires covering approximately 10 hectares or more in grass- and vegetation-covered areas. The emergency calls were registered specifically in Lernarot settlement in Aragatsotn province, Artanish in Gegharkunik, Okhtar in Syunik, Jraber and in Hrazdan town in Kotayk.
Firefighting activities involved both on-duty and off-duty firefighters from the Regional Rescue Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service, who responded promptly to all emergency calls and undertook efficient and targeted fire suppression actions. As a result, all the fires were fully extinguished.
Thanks to the skilled and rapid actions of the firefighters, the spread of fires to nearby settlements and forested areas was prevented.
The firefighting efforts also included representatives from the Police Patrol and Eco-Patrol Services, as well as local citizens.
Given the currently high fire-risk situation across the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service urges strict compliance with fire safety regulations, especially in forest-adjacent zones and recreational areas.
Caution and responsibility in fire prevention and fighting are more important now than ever.
