On May 20, at 18:32 an emergency call was received to Tavush Regional Crisis Management Center that gas pressure in a tanker truck had loaded with 20 tons of liquid gas at Bagratashen checkpoint had increased: the rescuers' help was needed.
One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that the driver opened the valve of the liquefied gas tank of “Iveco” truck in order to reduce the pressure.
In order to avoid a fire, the tanker truck was moved to a safe area. The firefighters implemented cooling actions on site.
The rescuers closed the tank valve and the truck continued its journey.
