On January 11, at 22։53 information was received to Syunik Regional Crisis Management Center that grassland had been on fire in the area adjacent to Verin Khotanan village: there was a risk of it spreading to the forest.

Three fire units and two operative groups from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

The fire was isolated at 00:45 on January 12 and extinguished at 02:05. The grassland was burnt.

The fire was prevented from spreading to the forest area.
